Legal basis

The legal basis for this Notice is the amended Electronic Communications Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No. 109/2012), which entered into force at the beginning of 2013. The Act introduced new rules governing the use of cookies and other technologies for collecting and accessing the data stored on a user’s computer or a mobile device.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text files with small pieces of data exchanged between the computer and the network server upon visiting a website. Typically, they include:

  • Name of the web server from which the cookie was sent;
  • Cookie’s lifespan;
  • Cookie value, usually a unique, randomly generated number. 

In itself, a cookie does not contain or collect information. When read by the network server and the browser, it can help a website provide a more user-friendly service, for instance, by remembering previous purchases or information about the user’s account. The cookie can only be read and used by the server from which it was sent.

On trustworthy websites, cookies can improve the user experience. However, they can also be used in ways that violate privacy. Cookies can be stored for various periods, some only for the duration of the session and some for much longer.

How are cookies used on the Green Group website?

Our cookies are not used for your personal identification, but are designed to improve the site’s functioning. You can edit or delete them at will.

Functional cookies

The necessary cookies enable basic functions such as navigating the website and accessing specific parts of the website. A website cannot guarantee the user full activity without these cookies. Cookies, which are intended for adaptation of behaviour and imaging of a website when visiting the next time, for example a display in a selected language, also fit into this category.

Validity

This Privacy and Cookie Policy of the Green Group initiative will be amended as necessary, with all the amendments published on the website.

This Policy shall be published on www.greengroupinitiative.com and comes into effect on 20 September 2023.
